• It allows copying a Blu-Ray disc PS3 Game to the internal hard drive (if enough disk space is available)
• It allows copying a Blu-Ray disc PS3 Game to an external hard drive (if enough disk space is available) formatted in FAT32, but the copy will fail if the game has files bigger than 4Gb
• It allows playing the copied games without having the original Blu-Ray disk inserted
• It does not allow copying PS1 or PS2 games
• It does not allow copying Blu-Ray movies
• It works on all current versions on PS3 (fat, slim, the one compatible with PS2…)
• It works on PS3 firmware 3.41
• It is flashable, so the current features could evolve, and future PS3 firmware might be supported too
• It does not void your PS3′s warranty
• They’re on presale in almost every online shop
• Sony CAN detect if you use the PS Jailbreak
• Sony CAN ban your console in whole and disable any further access to PlayStation Network, and download of newest firmware, which will lead you into not being able to play new games (even BOUGHT games).
• Everything required to build the PS Jailbreak cost lesser than 10$. They charge you 120$ too much.

J’ai appris par hasard en me baladant sur YouTube qu’une sorte de modchip a été enfin créée pour la Playstation 3, permettant de copier des jeux PS3 sur un disque dur (soit le disque dur interne de la console, soit un disque dur externe branché en USB sur la console), et de jouer à ces jeux sans que le disque soit dans le lecteur.

En vérité, lorsque l’on parle de modchip, on fait référence à un petit circuit imprimé équipé d’une puce, et on l’installe dans la console en soudant quelques fils. Dans le cas présent, ce modchip ne serait ni plus ni moins qu’une clé USB à brancher simplement sur l’un des deux ports de votre PS3. Ensuite, il suffit de se balader dans le XMB pour atteindre deux nouvelles icônes, l’une permettant de copier le jeu qui se trouve dans le lecteur Blu-ray sur votre disque dur, et l’autre permettant de lancer l’un des jeux copiés, et y jouer.
